Week 31

One step closer to the best hearing of my life (hopefully), and endless packing boxes.

  • At the start of the week I saw an audiologist who was a bit odd in general, and through that I decided finally on the hearing aids I wanted to get. Adam and I took the plunge and bought them last week, so they should hopefully arrive this week or next week. Watch this space!
  • Also, a tip for anyone investing in hearing aids: turns out you can get them for like £1k less than shops from Wholesale Hearing. Review to come as to whether or not they're good, but so far so good.
  • ALSO you can get hearing aid jewellery?! I bought these and I love them.
  • I've been packing my entire flat up to move in with Adam in two weeks (plus one day), and I've reached the point where there are boxes everywhere and I can't tell how much is left to pack. We spent Sunday afternoon packing a lot up, and I'm hoping I can get it all done before I go to a festival next weekend. Thanking God that I'm hiring movers!!
  • We've had a lot of fun buying things for the flat: smart bulbs, HomePods, light strips, big cube storage. I'm excited to make the flat feel homely for us both, and to cover the garden in plants.
  • I hung out 1:1 with my friend Kat on Wednesday which was lovely - we drank cans on the beach and went to the pub, and chatted for a solid 3 hours which was great because we've never hung out just the two of us before. We also went for dinner on Thursday with our partners to Cin Cin: such great food, the risotto was the only vegan main but it was luckily very very good, and all the waiters were so friendly. Highly recommend!
  • I had my first cervical screening on Friday, and I won't lie, it was really tough. It was painful and really hard to get through, but I was grateful that they let Adam come in and the nurse was so kind and lovely about it all. Glad that I hopefully won't have to do that for another 3 years, and that I did it at all!
  • My mum came to visit at the weekend, and Adam and I took her to Planet India on Saturday. The food as always was great, but I do think every time that the starters steal the show and we should just order starters and skip the (also very good) curry.
  • And finally, my lovely friend Daryl from sixth form and his girlfriend Kerry moved to Brighton! Mum helped them move their stuff from Winchester, and Adam and I went over to help. Really nice to see them both and to have a little drink, and I'm looking forward to seeing them more now they live here.
I went to The Hare and Hounds with them, which I haven't been to since studying for my NCTJ in 2018 - really took me back!
  • Next week: more work, hopefully a day in Parliament, and going to the wind farm!
